Garnacha blanca

Synonyms: bernacha blanca, garnacho blanco, lladoner blanc, grenache blanc.

In Spain it can be regarded as the Mediterranean white grape by excellence. It is a medium ripening and medium budding variety. Especially present in Catalonia (Empordà, Priorat and especially in Terra Alta) and in the French region of the Eastern Pyrenees, where it is known as grenache blanc or silla blanc. Stylistically, just like its red sister, it is a multi-faceted variety, perhaps because of the influence that the winemaking process has on the final result.

In Terra Alta it can be found in structured, ripe styles with a touch of wild flowers, accompanied by barrel ageing or ageing on lees. In Priorat, however, we find it in a more untamed style, in some cases with oxidative ageing that takes us into new and unexplored fields that will continue to broaden the typology of white wines on offer.
